AFC BOURNEMOUTH: Who’ll make the Premier League grade? Goalkeepers

By -

Just in case you didn’t know, it is real, AFC Bournemouth are now part of the elite of English football. The 2015/16 season will see them taking on Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Stoke and the rest.

Getting to the Premier League is no easy task, ask Middlesbrough, Derby, Wigan, Notts Forest, Leeds United et al. Once the promotion hurdle has been cleared the very next step is getting prepared to stay there.

What you need to stay in the top flight is top quality players. Does the AFC Bournemouth have enough talent in its current squad? We take a look at the current line-up (including the latest additions) and give our opinion on who should stay and who should go.

We kick-off with a look at the current selection of stoppers. It’s Premier League for those who can make the grade and Championship for those who can’t.

GOALKEEPERS

ARTUR BORUC – PREMIER LEAGUE / Championship
ADAM FEDRICI – PREMIER LEAGUE / Championship
LEE CAMP – Premier League / CHAMPIONSHIP
RYAN ALLSOP – Premier League / CHAMPIONSHIP

We at TFTSE Towers are not totally convinced that Boruc is the right choice for our No.1 keeper. There is no doubting that he is good, but he still makes more mistakes than he should.

Eddie Howe obviously thinks the same as he has brought in Adam Fedrici to provide competition for the No. 1 spot. Personally, we would give Fedrici a chance and if he is not up to the task swap him for Boruc.

It’s difficult to look past these two as the number one choice. Lee Camp will be the keeper to go. He simply cannot compete with Boruc and Fedrici.

Ryan Allsop is undoubtedly a talent in the making, so he needs to get game time elsewhere. If he finds his feet at another club we think he could seriously trouble Boruc and Fedrici for the No.1 spot.
