#AFCB v #MUFC: Beating Chelsea was big but beating United would be massive

By -

AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United have history, cup history, but no league history. Saturday 12th December 2015 will go down in the history books as the first time the two teams have ever meet in the same league.

Looking at this fixture at the beginning of the season most Bournemouth fans would have thought we would be lucky to get a point. But the Cherries have hit form at just the right time. After last week’s victory over Premier League champions Chelseas confidence will be sky high, and a clean sheet to boot.

Man Utd are a big team, probably the biggest in English football, and getting a result against them would eclipse the Chelsea result.

We said it last week that picking the big team to win is such an easy prediction to make and it’s f**king boring. Man Utd are a big team, probably the biggest in English football, and getting a result against them would eclipse the Chelsea result.

Man United sit in the top four but they are not the force they were under Alex Ferguson and the form guide suggests that the result on Saturday is not a full gone conclusion. Taking the last three league games for both sides its equal points, equal goal difference but more goals scored for the mighty Cherries.

LAST 3 GAMES

POINTS
AFCB – W01 D2 L0 = 5 POINTS
MAN UTD –
W01 D2 L0 = 5 POINTS

GOALS
AFC BOURNEMOUTH F:6 A:5
MAN UTD F:3 A:2

Imagine that, six points from Chelsea away and Man Utd at home. I wouldn’t have believed it at the beginning of the season. In fact we predicted nothing from Chelsea and a draw against Man U. We are already ahead of schedule, so lets hope it’s at least a point come 7pm Saturday.
