The Cherries continued their pursuit of zero points with a draw at newly promoted Aldershot. The home side were quick out of the blocks and flashed a ball across goal early on. The Shots keeper pulled off a fine save from Pitman’s header after 10 minutes, who was again denied soon after. As half-time approached both sides had chances but neither could get the ball in the net.

HALF-TIME 0-0

The second half saw the Shots start convincingly with Soares’s 63rd minute strike giving them the lead. A fortunate off-side decision kept the Shots lead to a single goal. The 77th minute saw the arrival of loanee Sappleton who was quick to make an impression with a unstoppable strike in the 81st minute to earn Cherries a point.
