Match Report: v Luton (A) A-A
FOOTBALL LEAGUE TWO
28the October 2008
GOALS: None
The bottom of the table clash against Luton was cancelled due to snow. The game kicked off in blizzard conditions but was abandoned by referee Gavin Ward after eight minutes.
Cherries manager Jimmy Quinn said: “It wasn’t right for the players, it was dangerous and the ball wasn’t travelling on the pitch.
I can understand the fans not being happy because it would have been a game with a lot of mistakes”.
“The decision was the referee’s. He asked me before the game whether we should give it a go and I said ‘you’re asking the wrong person because I’ve played on plenty of pitches worse than that with no grass”‘.
“It was a big game for both teams and would have been a lottery with players not sure if the ball was going to roll.”
