Notts County (A) 1-1
FOOTBALL LEAGUE TWO
6th September 2008
GOALS: Pitman 19
The new Jimmy Quinn era began with a hard fought draw thanks to a goal from Brett Pitman. The Cherries equalised through a Pitman strike seven minutes after County took the lead with a Jamie Forrester strike. However, it took a top drawer save from Jalal to keep the Cherries in the game. With half-time approaching Hollands had a drive well saved.
HALF-TIME 1-1
Early in the second the Cherrries had a shot from Bradbury well saved. Not to be outdone Jalal pulled off a a stunning save to deny Edwards and Anderton cleared off the line to keep it level. Jalal had to produce another save to keep the hosts at bay, but it was Wagstaff who was so nearly the hero at the death.
