TOP 8 #AFCB GAMES OF 2013/14: Here’s ours, what’s yours?

By -

AFC Bournemouth’s journey into the Championship has been an exhilarating ride with a few downs and plenty of ups. It was only two weeks ago that we chose our favourite five games of the season.
But, the Cherries have been on fire since then so we decided its time to reconsider and extend it to the top 8 games of the 2013/14 season so far… Will there be more to come? Lets hope we can make it a top 10 very soon.

NO. 01 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 3 READING 1

Sensational. This may not have had the sheer number of goals of others, but this has to have been the best first-half performance ever witnessed at Dean Court. AFCB 6 points, Reading 0 points

NO. 02 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 4 LEEDS UTD 1

It couldn’t have happened to a nicer team. It was a long time in the making but it was worth the wait. 3-0 up after half an hour and cruising. Just a shame there wasn’t more goals.

NO. 03 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 2 QPR 1

The return of King ‘Arry, his trusty assistant and mega bucks team meant for an electric occasion. Who came out on top, the mighty AFC Bournemouth, hail the new king, Eddie Howe.

NO. 04 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 5 MILLWALL 2

Another team that are not particularly popular and they got a proper drubbing with a stunning second-half performance from the Cherries. Great Strike from Harry Arter and celebration from Lewis Grabban.

NO. 05 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 5 DONCASTER 0

A hat-trick from Yann Kermorgant on his full debut and two great strikes from Harry Arter. Five goals wasn’t flattering in the slightest, could have easily been 8-0.

NO. 06 – AFC BOURNEMOUTH 1 WIGAN 0

In only our second home game of the season we were playing the FA Cup holders and one of the favourites to get promoted the Premiership. One mistake, one goal and one red card all added to the excitement.

NO. 07 – BIRMINGHAM 2 AFC BOURNEMOUTH 4

Continuing on from the Leeds massacre, and making up for the home loss the Cherries battered Brimingham into submission.

NO. 08 – READING 1 AFC BOURNEMOUTH 2

Winning away is always a bonus and doing it against your local rivals, who believe they are better than you is even more sweet. And, obviously, ending their unbeaten home record was an added extra.
