From narrowly avoiding relegation from the Football League in the 2008–09 season to the top of the Sky Bet Championship in 2014-15, AFC Bournemouth has achieved what seemed the impossible.
On the final day of the Sky Bet Football League season in 2009, AFC Bournemouth faced Grimsby Town with a win needed to secure their Football League status. In the 80th minute, Steve Fletcher scored what proved to be a crucial goal for the club, and they haven’t looked back.
As sponsor of the Football League, Sky Bet has gone behind the scenes to speak to the key protagonists involved in a journey that has seen the club go from the bottom of League 2 to winners of the Sky Bet Championship in just 6 years.
