If we believed all the rumours, speculation and complete bollocks spouted by the press and online sources, AFC Bournemouth would undoubtedly be shorn of a few of its stars.
Every since the Cherries emphatic win over Charlton Athletic and Watford’s failure to beat Sheffield Wednesday, the press and rumour mongers have gone into overdrive.
Everyday another speculative, uninformed trail of nonsense hits the web. Ultimately, some of the many rumours prove to be true (remember there is no smoke without fire).
The most annoying trait of the rumours mongers is the rehashing of a single story. How many times did we hear about Eddie Howe taking over from Sam Allardyce at West Ham, Callum Wilson joining Chelsea, Aston Villa and some other clubs? Too f**king many, that’s how many times.
“How many times did we hear about Eddie Howe taking over from Sam Allardyce at West Ham”
How many times have we been connected to Dimitar Bertatov, each time being sold the same line. It is easy to speculate and we do it occasionally, but only occasionally, and of course we are generally right ☺
It is worth noting that most of our signings (so far) have seen little speculation. Boruc was a given, Fedrici got a few comments, Josh King was unexpected and Atsu got little attention until after the fact.
If any of these Premier League ‘journalists’ give a shit about AFC Bournemouth, or knew f**k all about them, apart from their ‘fairytale’ rise from the bottom of League Two, they would also know that most members of the squad want to stay.
Why would they want to leave? We have one of the most gifted managers of a generation. A manager loved by the team. We have a squad that has been together for over two seasons with an amazing team spirit. We have just been promoted to the Premiership for the first time in the club’s history. We have a chairman who is happy to work with and back the manager.
Surely, this is more than enough for any player. And, if it’s solely about the money (remember Michael Symes), then Eddie wouldn’t have signed them and if that’s all they want its time for them to leave.
