The Cherries put together their first winning sequence of the season with a hard fought victory over promotion candidates Darlington.

Jalal was quick to tip over a Quakers shot early on but it was a wayward defensive pass that saw Goulding’s effort saved, with the rebound stuck in the back of the net by Bartley. The visitors were back in the game on 35 minutes, but two minutes later a deflected Igoe shot trickled into the net to make it 2-1.

The second half saw heavy pressure from the visitors but the Cherries defence held firm. Bartley was again the thick of the action with a robust challenge that saw players from both sides sqaure up. However, Pitman on as a late sub sealed the points with a sweet finish.
