Latic manager Paul Dickov told the official Oldham site he is ‘desperate to erase the pain of last season’s defeat’
Paul Dickov is desperate to erase the pain of last season’s 3-0 npower League One defeat at Bournemouth. The Latics manager described the loss at The Seward Stadium as one of the worst displays of his tenure. It was a case of Cherries manager Lee Bradbury getting one over on his best-mate Dickov. Dickov is anticipating a tough match saying: “I know Bournemouth lost this week in the FA Cup (against Gillingham) but their league form has picked up recently.
“I am pleased for Lee, who is a good friend, because slowly and surely he has put together his team.
“He has lost a lot of good players and not necessarily been given the funding to replace them.
“It has taken them sometime, like ourselves, to achieve consistency and it will be a tough match.”
The Latics manager says first and foremost they must make themselves hard to beat.
“We know we can score goals, but first and foremost we must roll up our sleeves and got stuck in,” he continued.

TFTSE regular and AFC Bournemouth old boy offers his thoughts for the game
Missed writing my regular slot, and I’m sure anyone who regularly reads these previews will of as well. Nothing new to report here, apart from no drinking before the game, saving that for after the game. Actually going out for the whole evening, wow. Haven’t chosen a match swear word yet, but I’m sure a few will spring to mind.
PREDICTION: A home win last time out was most welcome, but since then have managed to let in far too many goals. But, our good League form is about to continue. Even though Oldham have scored a few recently, its not gonna happen Saturday, Wes and Wes to score 2-1.

Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury:
“A win on Saturday would be fantastic but we can’t take Oldham lightly at all. “They are a good side and manager Paul Dickov will have them working very hard. They are doing very well and they have strength and goals up front.
“We need to come out from the first minute and play. When we do that for 90 minutes then we are good side and it is just about getting that consistency.
“The lads know that and we are working on our concentration levels for the whole game.”
