A Darren Anderton dazzler ensured that the Cherries finally headed into plus points territory.
The first half was an even if rather forgettable affair with chances few and far between. The Chester keeper having to make the odd save from a couple of speculative shots.
The second half took a turn for the better with the arrival of Anderton. As the half progressed the Cherries came more into the game but it wasn’t until the 82nd minute that things really hotted up. Dinning challenging for the ball with Hollands raised an elbow and got an automatic red card.
Anderton flashed the resulting free kick just wide of the post. However, six minutes later he smashed home a 20-yarder for all three points.
