DUBIOUS PENALTY DECISION SENDS CHERRIES TO FIRST DEFEAT IN FIVE | A single solitary goal from the penalty spot proved to be the difference on a day when the visitors never really hit second gear.
The Cherries push for promotion was put on hold as the home side took all three points. Ryan Garry was ruled out before the game with Marvin Bartley pressed into action in the centre of defence. In a typically turgid League Two encounter both sides struggled to produce any serious chances, that is until the 39th minute, when the referee stepped in and changed the course of the game. Steve Fletcher was adjudged to have brought down Peter Gain. Replays show their was minimal contact, but Daggers Mark Arber made no mistake from the spot sending Jalal the wrong way.
HALF TIME 0-1
The second half proved to be a more lively affair, though it would have been difficult to be any worse, with the Cherries producing a number of half chances. The visitors had the crossbar to thank as Daggers leading marksmen Paul Benson hit a thunderous volley that failed to cross the line. The Cherries continued to create half-chances but ultimately failed to test the keeper. With full-time approaching the Daggers were thwarted by a Jalal double save, but the visitors could not take advantage and failed to create another chance before going home empty-handed.
MAN OF THE MATCH | MARVIN BARTLEY
Again showed his committment and versatility.
