PORT VALE 3 AFC BOURNEMOUTH 1: Time for Mr Kevin Bond to go?

FOOTBALL LEAGUE TWO
30th August 2008
GOALS: Lindfield 58

Another uninspiring display and poor defensive performance saw the Cherries condemned to a second successive defeat. Shades of last season yet again, injured players, similar results and desperate substitutions. A poor first half display started early on with Garry misjudging a long ball. It didn’t take long for Vale to take a not unexpected lead with a 20-yard effort from Marc Richards.

HALF-TIME 0-1.

The second half saw an improved performance with Pitman replacing Sappleton in the 57th minute. The Cherries equalised almost immediately with new boy Lindfield heading in on his full debut. However, any hopes of a point were soon banished as poor defending saw Vale score two goals in quick succession.

In desperation rather hope, Bond made two changes bringing on Ward and Wagstaff for Bradbury and Garry. But, to no avail with Anderton producing the only attempt of note in the remaining 20 minutes.
