After the performance against Bury on Saturday we thought its was time to give Quinn and Co a break. The team played well and looked reasonably solid. The inclusion of Partington, Tubbs, Connell and Preston brought a renewed vigour to the team and finally a performance that involved keeping the ball on the ground.
Quinn told the official site “I told the players to get the ball down and play and to compete with Bury and that’s exactly what happened.” The only question this raises is why hasn’t he thought of doing this before. Not so sure if it was Quinn and Tindall’s tactical acumen that won the day or the enforced changes. One good game doesn’t make him a better manager, but sticking to a winning line-up will.
Let’s hope that the Christmas period involves some passing and movement and a steady climb out of the relegation zone. However, I’m not so sure that is going to happen. But it better had, because I cannot stand anymore of that useless hoofball to a crap target man. I believe, for now
