GOALS: Pitman 60

In-form Shrewsbury effectively finished off the Cherries with three first half goals.

An even opening was soon put to rest as the hosts struck in the 22nd minute. Eleven minutes later it was 2-0 and in the 41st minute Davies made it 3-0 and effectively game over.

HALF-TIME 0-3.

Quinn must have given the Cherries a right rollicking as a much -improved performance saw Pitman reduce the deficit. The Cherries were getting the ball down and producing some slick passing, but Ward’s second yellow, a very poor decision by the ref (The referee’s a….), killed off any hopes of a spirited comeback.

The Shrews went for the kill and after several decent chance inevitably scored a fourth deep into injury time.
