The end of the Cherries promotion season was pretty special (we will forget about the lack of a trophy parade). When the joy of that success had subsided it was looking forward to life in the Championship. As the days counted down to the first Saturday of the season the excitement and tension got more and more intense.
The opening day of the season couldn’t come soon enough and it didn’t fail to disappoint. The skies were blue, the sun was out and the grass was green. It was the perfect scenario to start life in the Championship.
The game didn’t disappoint either a 2-1 victory against a decent Charlton side with a glorious goal form Lewis Grabban and soon to be Cherry Yann Kermorgant. The Cherries had arrived in the Championship and we were ready for the ride.
