It’s been a long time coming, but it was inevitable that at some point that the wage bill would need to be cut. The club has had too many players for too long, slowly draining the clubs slender resources.

Eddie Howe recently stated that, “The club has to be streamlined and manageable, so we are in the process of doing that. “We’ve got some difficult decisions ahead to make for the benefit of the club.”

We think that Mr Howe is being tactful and already knows who is on their way. The only difficult part is telling them. TFTSE has kindly decided to offer a helping hand and complied a list of the players, with ready-made reasons, who we think need to start looking for alternative employment.

The keeper has been at the club for over 4 years and has never returned to the form he had in his prime. Every time he has come back into the squad, he has always looked out of sorts. He doesn’t install confidence in his defence and his kicking is still poor. He’s tried to leave once, so now is the time to let him go.

Many may disagree with us over ‘McQuid’, but he was never that great a player when he first left the club. He went on a very impressive scoring run and left. Moving up to the Championship exposed his true talent. He has done little to impress since coming back, he wouldn’t be missed and he would be off the wage bill.

His injury has been a blessing in disguise for the team. He is slow, cumbersome and tactically naive as he has proved on a few occasions this season. We have better defenders in the squad, so let’s give him a wave goodbye.

We thought that McDermott would turn out to be a great signing, but it seems he has a ‘attitude’ problem. He is undoubtedly a talented player, but he cannot seem to apply his skills into a match situation. He doesn’t even make the bench any more and we have plenty of midfielders pushing him down the pecking order.

It seems season upon season the new season is going to be the season that Partington is going to make his breakthrough into the first team. It hasn’t happened yet. He is injury-prone and simply can’t seem to make the step up to compete.

This will be an easy decision for Eddie Howe. He had his chance to get back in the fold, and the squad, but has made it quite plain that he wants to leave, so let him.

We know he is on loan, but we think that his loan spell should not be extended unless we are really desperate. UPDATE. As soon as I had finished writing this I seen he has been recalled. Good

We are a little undecided about this. He hasn’t had time too prove himself at this level, but we don’’t think he has got what it takes. Let’s hope he gets a chance and proves us wrong.

Who do you think is a waste of money and should be shown the door?
