- AFC BOURNEMOUTH v LIVERPOOL: Opposition fan site KopTalk talks to The South End
AFC Bournemouth and Swansea have both been touted as relegation candidates, but the Cherries win against West Ham has given us breathing space, while the appointment of Paul Clement has given Swansea hope. We talk to Swans fan site SCFC2 who are going for a 2-2 draw
Q. Paul Clement has invigorated Swansea. What do the fans think of him and will he keep you in the Premier League?
Yes he has done a great job but being honest he couldn’t do any worse than Bungling Bob! The fans have taken to him mainly due to the fact he has won some games! He has in fairness brought a level of organisation that we didn’t have and has shown some passion! Yes I think he will. We have a key next two games but I think we need another three wins plus the odd draw and I am sure we will get this!
Q. The race for Premier League relegation is hotting up. It has been suggested that Bournemouth and Swansea are in this battle, but who do you think will go down?
I think we have both been too close for anyone to feel comfortable but I think your win at the weekend will mean you are safe. I think that Sunderland, Middlesborough and Hull will go down although it will be close and we won’t expect by much!
Q. Help Eddie out and tell us how you think Swansea will line-up against AFC Bournemouth?
After Bungling Bob used to make six changes every game, our line up has been pretty much the same over the last few games! The only challenge has been some injuries which we have experienced recently but I expect the team to be Fabianski, Kyle Naughton, Fede Fernandez, Alfie Mawson (who has become a firms favourite) and hopefully Martin Olsson although if he doesn’t make it then Stephen Kingsley will start. The midfield three will be Jack Cork, Tom Carroll and Leroy Fer and then we will have Gylfi Sigurdsson on the left hand side supporting Fernando Llorente who plays down the middle and with either Wayne Routledge or Luciano Narsingh on the other wing!
Q. Who will be Swansea’s danger men that we should watch out for on matchday?
The obvious candidates are Sigurdsson (who has more assists than any other PL player) and Llorente who when he gets crosses of a decent quality generally converts them! I also think you need to keep an eye out for Alfie Mawson at set plays and Leroy Fer who is having a strong end to the season!
Q. Which AFC Bournemouth players do you think Paul Clement will be targeting in his gameplan?
I think the key will be stopping you guys from scoring and so holding onto Josh King will be key! I have to say that Ryan Fraser impressed me when we played you before and I think he could be a challenge as well!
Q. Games between AFC Bournemouth and Swanseas are rarely low-scoring affairs. Back in December we beat you 3-0. How do you see the game ending this time out?
I would love to say we would get a 0-0 here and go away with a point but with both our defences I think its unlikely! I think we will have a response from our defeat and poor performance last week and so whilst I would love to see a 3-2 win for us, I think it will be 2-2!
