OWN GOAL SEALS VICTORY FOR THE CHERRIES

Danny Hollands claimed an 85th minute winner to keep the Cherries in second spot, a single point behind the league leaders Rochdale.

An even and largely uneventful first half saw little in the way of meaningful action. Neither keeper was tested until late on in the half. Alan Connell had a long range shot after ten minutes and four minutes later Anton Robinson had to be replaced with Bartley coming on in his place. With half-time approaching Feeney broke clear and one-on-one with the keeper saw his shot saved. The visitors had a weak shout for a penalty before the referee blew his whistle for the break.

HALF-TIME 0-0

The start of the second half saw Shawn Jalal pull off a brilliant save and then signal to come off. However, he changed his mind as Connell was replaced by Fletcher. Moments later Sammy Igoe had a shot deflected into the visitors keepers hand. Jalal’s injury finally forced him off with around half an hour to go as he was replaced by Dan Thomas. With just over 20 minutes to go Feeney broke from his marker for the first time in the match and was duly hauled back and a yellow card was produced. The last 15 minutes saw the pesistent rain start to affect the pitch for the second game in a row. With the clock ticking down Fletcher passed to Marvin Bartley who raced into the box but shot wide. But, in the 85th minute a Fletcher flick on was put in the net by the visitors defence to give the Cherries all three points.
