GOALS: Pitman 86

Another 1-0 home win saw the Cherries climb to within five points of safety.

The hosts started slowly and struggled to get a grip on the game, but an acrobatic overhead kick from Hollands looked set to give the Cherries the lead but struck the inside of the post. Minutes later a top drawer save from Shwan Jalal kept the scores level.

HALF-TIME 0-0

A couple of early chances for Pitman and Fletcher were well-saved from Arthur in the Stanley goal. In the 79th minute Mr Phillips gave a rather dubious looking penalty that Procter managed to blaze over the bar.

With the game heading for a draw the Cherries pushed forward and Thomson popped over a cute cross for Pitman, who volleyed into the net for all three points.
