SIMON FRANCIS: From League One to Premier League

By -

AFC Bournemouth’s and Simon Francis rise to the Premier League have gone hand-in-hand.

Back in November 2011 Simon Charles Francis joined the Cherries on loan from Charlton Athletic, where he had been for 16 months. Two months later Lee Bradbury signed him on a permanent deal, making 29 appearances in League One in 2011/12.

The 2012/13 season saw him establish himself as a regular managing 48 League and Cup appearances and 1 goal (against Tranmere at home) as the Cherries gained promotion to the Championship for the first time since 1990. The following season (2013/14) saw him continue his fine form and notch up 50 League and Cup appearances and 1 goal (this time against Bolton away). The 2014/15 season was another big season for the Cherries with Francis playing an integral part as he made 46 appearances and got his obligatory goal, this time against Wigan at home. The Cherries finished the season as Championship Champions and Simon Francis had completed his rise from League One to Premier League in three short seasons.

Here we at TFTSE Towers pick out some of his finest moments for you to watch and enjoy.
