Steve Lovell – Goal Machine?

By -

Much has been made of Steve Lovell’s return to the Cherries after ten years. He is Eddie Howe’s brother, he is Amy McDonald’s boyfriend, he has played in Scotland since 2002, he is a prolific goal scorer, but is he?

Let’s look at the facts, he has played the majority of his career in Scotland with spells at Dundee, Aberdeen, Falkirk and briefly Partick Thistle. His record is as follows:

Dundee | 82 appearances – 28 goals

Aberdeen | 76 appearances – 20 goals

Falkirik | 28 appearances – 8 goals

Partick Thistle | 16 appearances – 3 goals

Let’s break that down.

Dundee | 82 appearances – 28 goals. That’s around 14 goals a season

Aberdeen | 76 appearances – 20 goals. Thats around 10-12 goals a season

Falkirik | 28 appearances – 8 goals. That about around 10-12 goals a season

Partick Thistle | 16 appearances – 3 goals. Doesn’tcount

Hardly prolific, but should prove to be a good backup striker to Pitman. And, that’s a lot more goals than Goulding, Fletcher and Connell managed to score last season.
